Santiago Esteves
Born in Mendoza in 1983, he holds a degree in Psychology and studied Directing at the University of Cinema in Buenos Aires. He trained as an assistant editor and later as an editor, while simultaneously developing his skills as a director and screenwriter of short films.His first short film, The Crimes (2011) won, among other awards, the prize for best Ibero-American short film in Huesca 2011 and was shortlisted for the 2012 Academy Awards.Since 2010, he has edited and co-edited more than 20 feature films, including White Elephant (Pablo Trapero, 2011), Miss (Robert Bonomo, 2016), and The Balloons (Mariano González, 2016), along with other work on series and short films. He has written and directed two feature films, The Reborn (2025) and Rey's education (2017), both of which have had wide international distribution in festivals, platforms and commercial theaters.
