Macarena De Oto

Macarena was born in San Rafael city, Argentina in 1986. Graduated from Fines Arts High School. She obtained a Buenos Aires University's Image and Sound Designer degree. She was selected from the Japan Government scholarship program and got a master's degree from the Tokyo University of the Arts and Music. She learned Cinema Editing by studying with Japanese director Takefumi Tsutsui, and international professors like the genius American editor Norman Hollyn.

Based in Tokyo, she is working on co-production projects. Editing for CNN Internacional Commercial multi-language content. Worked together with Kawase Naomi editing the Official Film of the Olympics Games Tokyo 2020 (Side-A, Side-B) which premiered at the Cannes Festival in 2022. Cooperating with independent filmmakers, edited short documentaries like ‘Tears Teacher’ by Noémie Nakai (Japan-France) and feature documentaries like ‘Torero’ by Antonio Donaire (Spain).
She has extensive experience in the Television industry as well, working for Warner Media LATAM in Argentina, and for Netflix, Hulu, and Youtube series in Japan.

A creative trilingual editor (Spanish, English, Japanese) who loves creating an understanding and widespread promotion of interconnecting content.
